Decisions Are Made By Those Who Show Up

When it was announced that Donald Trump would be the next President of the United States, I felt a lot of things—disturbed, heartbroken, baffled, furious. But I did not feel regret. I’d done my part.

I showed up. And the more each of us do that, the more our government looks like us.

This is probably the most important Presidential Election any of us will see in our lifetimes, but it’s the people who represent you in state government who hold immense power over the quality of your day to day life.

State government decides whether you’re paid a living wage and whether your child’s school receives funding; whether wild places are preserved or paved over to line developer pockets; whether our beaches are protected or contaminated; whether your family has access to needed health care or unemployment in times of crisis; whether public spaces are safe from contagion or beholden to science-denying opportunism.

These are local decisions, made by down-ballot elected officials. If I am elected to serve District 72, I will answer to you. Not developers. Not corporations. Not partisan cronies.

I’ve built my entire career around defending individual citizens’ rights against powerful corporations and I will bring that same determination to Tallahassee.
