I get it. Really, I do.

And how is voting for me going to help you, right? I’ll be the first to admit the Democratic party isn’t perfect and hasn’t done a good job of prioritizing the needs of young people. But Florida has been under Republican leadership for over 20 years and we both know how that’s turned out: homogenous, greed-driven, out of touch and often corrupt decision-makers who listen to no one but their corporate sponsors. This isn’t working.

I’m not going to make empty, grandstanding promises, but I’ll tell you what I will do if you vote for me to represent you in Florida’s State House:

• I’ll stand up to corporate polluters, developers, and the politicians they’ve bought. Climate change is real and we need to get real about it.
• I’ll fight for public education. You are truly our future. It is our responsibility to ensure you have access to the education you need to make it a great one for all of us. 
• I’ll demand a living wage. You deserve to be paid fairly for the value of your talents.
• I will always stand up for justice, equality, and constitutional rights. Period.

Look, I know the candidates on your ballot might not be your first, or even your fourth choice. That’s fair. But your vote does matter, especially in local races. 

This district was won by only 1,215 votes in the last election. We need you. I need you. The more we win elections because of your vote, the further it pushes both parties to recognize that your vote matters, the issues important to you matter, and you will not be ignored. When you show up for local races, it forces local representatives to listen to you. That is one thing I’ll promise: I will listen.
